The easiest to you is a lease transfer, try swapalease.com and leasetrader.com for more details. BMW charges a small fee, $450.00 if i'm not mistaken, to transfer and you are out of the lease just like that. Another, usually more expensive option is to buy the car at the current buyout price which you can find on bmwusa.com and physically own the car, then sell it right away.

Yeah, Swapalease and Leasetrader. But, they also have fees and, as BMWFS will not allow transfers during the final 6 months, you'll have to move fast. Further, you'll need someone willing to only drive the car for about 11 months (assuming they do not want to buy it after the lease is up).

Just of curiosity, why do you "need" an SUV now? You have a sedan... so what possible reason is there for the sudden need for an "SUV"?
Sedans can carry people/kids/stuff just as well as an SUV, so unless you moved to a mountain top house with no paved road access, I cannot understand why people suddendly develop the need for an SUV

mostly for work, i'm in vineyard management, and was using a toyota tacoma but now i think i need a suv or maybe a new truck. really can't take a bmw to the grape fields haha so that is pretty much why. i know i should have thought about it before buying the bmw but now i really don't see the point of having it.

im in your same boat (wanting to get out early not the SUV part lol)
swapalease n leasetrader charge you and i dno it just seems like my last resort. i posted my car up on craigslist (free) and got insane amount of feedback. a lot of people were interested, at the same time, you had a lot of people that didnt understand it and would bribe me with cash to not do the transfer and just let them drive it n they pay ME monthly..ya right whos that stupid.

anyway i changed my mind last minute otherwise im sure i would have eneded up doing the trade...ima try craigslist again and then my last resort will be leasetrader.
(i still have cold feet tho)

good luck!

I have a solution....
Part out whatever has any values ( no serial numbers )
Drive the car in a remote area, drop some gas in the inerior of the car and light up a match. Make sure your girl, wife or "partner", can remember very well that you both spend that nigh getting it on...
Than call the car stolen the next day and.... there you go...
If you're greek, please don't put Windex, it's not gonna get fixed...

maybe try to trade it in for an X5?

I think you'll have to pay the last payments plus the buyout to trade it in or sell it.

If you can work a dealer to selling you the car with a 15% discount off the list price; that, plus the tax savings when you trade a vehicle in you could make up a bunch of the difference on the trade value vs. the buyout amount.

DO NOT BUY OUT THE CAR! I just sold my 2008 toyota camry which i had leased for 2 years. i had 1 year left on it. if you chose to buy it out you will have to pay taxes on it and the person wanting to purchase your vehicle will have to pay taxes as well. What i did was went ahead and posted it on craigslist found a buyer, went to the dealership had to pay $450 all together and i was clear and out of it. say you owe $24500 on the car and have it posted for $25000, you wont have to worry about that $450... Leasing a car is the worst thing ever, Dealerships make most their money from that!
