Anyone hear this from their e90?

When I unlock the car after it's been parked, or open the door after it's been parked, I hear a loud "squak" or "squeek" come from the area in front of the drivers door. It only squaks once right after the door unlocks or opens, at about the same time I can hear a much quieter small motor operate under the car. Any ideas? The sound does not sound normal. Thanks!

On my other car it was the fuel pump priming

It's normal. Gremlins come standard on the E9x.

Ya, I believe the small motor sound from under the car is the fuel pump. It may be normal, but the squak is pronounced and sounds too loud and "nails on the chalk board" like to be normal. I was thinking something was poorly adjusting to to the figid temps that may need a lube, but what the heck could be in the drivers door or just in front of it that would make that noise, locked or unlocked?

My 2006 car still has the mechanical lock that locks the the steering column. Sometimes, not always, the unlocking makes a clicking noise that comes from the steering column. Several technicians I consulted cheerfully declared the noise to be normal, I never did.

The motor-like noise you mention I hear as well and assumed it to be normal sound most cars make after the ignition is turned on, likely the fuel pump.

Look at the rubber seal in front of the door. It's most likely the cause of the noise like on mine everytime I open my door
