Question I Got A Tint Ticket Question.

Hey guys,

Got a tint ticket about 2 weeks ago and its my 2nd one, its non-correctable and the fine was like 250 bucks, i already payed the fine. Question is do i still need to remove it and go to court to show them?

I dont know about showing the court. In jersey that snot how its done. Pay the fine and thats it. We wont pass inspection in NJ. Only issue I can think of is that if they can see that you previously got a ticket for the same thing you may incur higher or more fines if it keeps happeneing.

WTF are you serious? I got pulled over 5 months ago about my tints and they marked it as a non-correctable violation and I only paid 25 (ithink) and made me go to court, but 250 bucks for a second violation?!?!? fuck that

doesnt it go up for 2nd and 3rd offenses? I mean damn 250 bucks i paid and i still gotta remove it? Why? I think i have to talk to a cop or something. I dont think i gotta remove it, just pay the fine. But then again why did they give me a court date?

If you have the option to pay by mail, then there is no court appearance and you can leave your tint on. Call the county Clerk of Court for a straight answer.

I've seen cops scrape it on the spot here in the PA/NJ area with inspection sticker scraper.

Legally you need to remove it. In actuality you don't - just expect to get many more tickets in the future.

Since there is no reason aside from looks to have dark tint (very light ceramic tint has better heat/UV rejection than dark tint) you need to ask yourself if recurring tint tickets are worth it.

This works, I'm an air traffic controller I had a friend who's an eye doctor write me a prescription and note for darker than legal tint so that my eyes wouldn't be strained going from bright sunlight to the dark room where I work (total BS reason ). I used it once when I was stopped here in the south metro ATL area.

I've gotten 2 tickets also and have never removed the tint. Just expect the fine to keep increasing until you remove it. My first fine was $90 and my second one was $170.

Damn, that sucks for you SoCal boys....

Down here in FL 99.99% of the cars on the road have "illegal tint", including the cops. I've never had an issue with 15%.

I could understand if you were in North Dakota or something, but California?
