Time to change tires?

I measured the treadwear, it is still around 5 bars on the rear tires, however I feel that the grip is not how it used to be. I am runniing Vredestein Sessantas.

At what wear, you guys change tires, and how do you know it is a good time to change tires, in addition to going down to 2-4bars.

Do you think the car is trying to tell me to change tires? I think I will go with Goodyear Assymetrics this time around..

What is "5 bars?" In the US, tread depth is measured in 1/32nds of an inch. Most new tires are measured with somewhere around 10/32nds. A tire is considered totally worn (and no longer legal) when it is worn to 2/32nds, but wet handling is severely compromised at 4/32nds.

I change my tires at 4/32nds.
