Dealer tried to rip me off: $24.75 oil filter

I'm on my last oil filter(bought a pack of 10 in 2005)......

I went to my local dealer yesterday....and they were asking $24.75 for each filter....

I couldn't stop laughing.....and the dude was like ...."That's $24.75 with taxes"...

Thanks, but no thanks.....I came home and ordered a set of 10 for $80 from getBMWparts.com

If the dealer is trying to rip you off, then why did you go there in the first place? It seems like you don't know what you are doing. Even I know that Tisher sells parts cheaper w/o spending too much time here. Why don't you know?

If you know Tisher sells it cheaper, why don't you go there in the first place?

Lots of questions to answer. Perhaps you are trying to show off to everyone that you know something the dealership doesn't.

I was at a Toyota dealer next door....bought 3 oil filters($5.41 each) for my Dad's 2010 Camry.....

So I decided to stop by BMW to get a price quote on their OEM oil filter.......

I was willing to pay $100 for a pack of 10.....but not $247.50........

I bought my first set of 10 OEM oil filters for $65 in 2005.......

and of course, I knew that Tischer sells them for $80/pack of 10(no taxes).....plus FREE SHIPPING!

I've only been here since 2005.........
