opinions on rims...

Finally about to make the move to purchase aftermarket rims on my SG e90.

I think I'm going to get Black 18" Breyton GTS's. But i'm beginning to get concerned about the potential for curb rash on those rims. Does anyone have any incite or experience? I really like them, but they have no lip so i figure any contact with a curb is going to remove paint... Are different colored rims or rims with lips better decisions?

the first picture is a sparkling graphite coupe with the rims that i want.. i have the sedan though
