i'm game. as long as it is not after thanksgiving since i'll be traveling.
-------- EDIT: Sign Up: http://www.e90post.com/forums/calend...ea=attend&e=63 Location: Treasure Island Date: Saturday, 11/11/06 Time: 10am to 4pm Activities: Relax and enjoy the surrondings at TI, talk about/take pics of cars and maybe a drive afterwards. Food: Grilling and such is a problem at TI, it's what held us back from having a meet there in the past. We can either grab a bite to eat somewhere else or bring some food with us and have sort of a picnic. Things to Bring: Coats, sweaters, chairs, refreshments, blankets, cameras and such... Notes: We can always alter the plans to suit our needs. This is just an outline. I may not be able to attend for the whole time, and I most certainly cannot go for a drive afterwards due to my wife's babyshower. So Ben or someone else, please plan driving routes for the group. -Danny

We can definately go for a drive. Maybe we can consider the routes that other forum's car meetings had went before.

mt hamilton is cool. you can actually meet in the east bay, go to mt hamilton, and then back down to the san jose side. the contra costa county side is clean, but the two times i've went, there was a lot of gravel on the santa clara county side.
if the group decides to do mt hamilton, somebody should def do a test run first. if there's gravel, lot of people are going to be going eeeeeeek at the sound of gravel hitting the paint.

here's what mt ham looks like...
http://www.shiresoft.com/cars/mt-hamilton-down.jpg gotta love the road curves...i wish they had more trees though -- I've heard that mt ham fewer cars than the scenic mountains near santa cruz. Can someone come up with an agenda? Start time, End time? So far does not look like many people are showing up yet...

We have at least 5 people going so far... that's plenty to just go on a drive, probably grab some lunch and just chat. No need to make this a huge record breaking meet or anything. Plus, it's probably easier to enjoy the twisties with a smaller group, since you don't have to worry about people getting cut off, or being lost.

Mt. Hamilton is pretty nice but the roads there are kinda small. Highway 9 is not as scenic but it has a lot of trees and the roads are a lot wider. There are also parking lots so we can park our cars there too. I think we should have a poll. lol
Here's what 9 looks like (though not as gloomy as the pix depicts). [IMG][/IMG] |
