Auto sock winter tracktion aid, for high performance tires?
I have a lowered 335 Xi with summer tires which I have never driven in the snow. Living in Seattle I don’t have to worry much about snow during daily driving. However I’m driving to Schwitzer with my girlfriend over the holidays and am worried about getting caught in a snow storm. I have been looking into a set of blizacks but I’m not sure if it is practical to spend $900 on a set with the amount of snow driving I’m anticipating.
I was thinking about picking up a set of these to keep in my trunk just incase a storm pops up. Is it worth it to purchase these or should I just sack up and buy the blizacks? Are there any other options anyone would recommend? http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/...S||4448483113&

Interesting... this is the first time I have seen these.
Well based on the tirerack description it seems to fit your scenario pretty well in theory. |

I don't think those are means for driving over long distances. I believe its designed for getting you up a steep hill or get you going if you get stuck.

Agreed. This product is just meant for very limited, temporary use to get unstuck, out of a driveway, out of a subdivision or back road and onto clear roads (them remove them before proceeding). Areas with extremely infrequent snow, like in the deep south, where a freak storm might happen once a year is the most common application.
