335D coupe

well my 335D coupe was picked up last saturday..not ideal day bit at ;least its in my hands.
I drove it home put it the garage and didn't get chance to use until today.
Took a few ropey old snaps with my trouserable compact camera on the way home before the light faded. I will take some proper ones with a real camera when I get a chance. Hopefully tomorrow as I have a portrait sesson tomorrow afternoon...

So far I very impressed with the autobox (my first) and of course the effortless power or do I mean torque?

Thus far i have done just 204 miles but its showing 42.6mpg...what restraint I have whilst running it in eh. I am sure that will change before the months out.

BTW the HIFI Logic 7 is stunning with its 13 speakers.

Lot more info when I actually get to drive it.

Looks really nice in Montego blue - I like the "standard" 188 wheels (the brochure doesn't do them justice). I look forward to more pics and your thoughts after having it a little longer... I'm really tempted to get a 335d myself.

Just out of interest, when did you place your order?

I went for the standard 188 17" as I don't like the look of the offered 18"'s. 19"'s are probably too harsh a ride for my cross country drive.

I placed my order in the 1st week of August...I could have had it on the 23rd launch day, but I was too busy (wedding shoot).

See what you mean about the wheels. Didn't like them in the brochure but that close up - nice!

How does the Montego blue compare to Le Mans blue?

I have seen both and my impression was the montego is a bit lighter/brighter. Le Mans Blue does change more under different lighting conditions though.

Thanks, from what I've seen Le Mans blue look dark in dim light and bright in sunlight.

Ooooh very nice! Which aperture?

Just a quick question ... since you don't have a temp in your dash to see wether your engine is warmed up. Do you have a variable redline? So when you start your engine your redline starts at 3500-4000rpm or something, and moves higher as your engine warms up ...

taken at f1.8 using my 85mmf1.2 lens...portrait lens on a full frame DSLR

bit different to using a 14mm rectolinear lens (non-fisheye) close up.

there is no indication of how warm the engine is...not ideal.
Instead you get the useless fuel consumption gauge.

Bah ... how do you know when you can floor it? The dealer told me the redline would shift.

The red line moves with temperature on the 535d so it would seem reasonable for it to happen also on the 335d

Exif has been stripped. What FF DSLR do you shoot with? Canon 5D? I assume so, since you mention your 85mm f1.2. Very nice rig, if so.

How ofter do you really use the 14mm WA with wedding shoots (possibly for the mandatory ring shot). I bought a 14mm f2.8 prime WA, and find that I really don't use it all that much.

Nice car too!

Off topic but I use two bodies Canon 1D2 & a 1Ds2. Never tried at 5D, waiting for the next Generation 1 series.

At yesterdays wedding I only used about the 14mm for some group shots, taken from a fire-escape looking down at a angle of about 20 degrees on the crowd. I find the 14f2.8L a way better lens than the 16-35f2.8L zoom at the wide end.
