335i sedan winter tires recommendation?

Hi, I'm a newbie to this forum and also to BMW.
I'm getting my 335i Sedan w/ sports package at the end of this month,
it's gonna be my first car... and I just learned how to drive.

I have some questions about the winter tires. Do I need to get winter tires for my car? (My sales told me the tires for the sports package is all season?) I live in NJ so there can be quite some snow during winter.

And if I do, which ones should I get? I talked to my sales, he told me if I order from BMW, I'll have to get a new set (with rims) and it'll cost $2.6k including installation. So I was wondering what is my best option.

If I'm getting the winter tires, I want to order them soon because I want to have them put on before I pick up my car.

As you can tell, I have completely no idea about the tires... so please help me.

Thank you

Try www.tirerack.com. They have good prices and will be able to get wheels and tires delivered to your home. I would suggest the Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60 winter tire for your car. Then take them to BMW and have them install the winter wheels before you pickup your car.

+1 On the Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60, got them on last week and they seem to be pretty good.

LM-60 is supposed to be the higher performance of the WS-60's which my buddy has on his Acura and he loves the WS-60's, same tread design but a higher speed rating and better performance.

Personally, I have the blizzak LM-25's because they were out last year and I LOVE them, the car is fine in the snow with them as long is its not deep.

Also, I wouldnt get BMW rims from the dealer for winter.....you can get rims from the vendor's here or go to the forums and get some rims from someone that had them taken off. Thats what I did, I got some 17's and tires installed and shipped/mounted all that for around $1100, MUCH cheaper then that dealer price. You can get some 18's for maybe a couple $$ more, still cheaper.

I mean if you have the money and dont care about it going away then by all means go to the dealer, but there are cheaper options for sure.

A 17" winter wheel/tire package from Tirerack will come to your door mounted, balanced, with BMW center caps for about $1200. Gary is your friend.

I am worried that Rial rim's they are offering have 30mm offset instead of 34mm...

ET30 is not a problem, it's just 4mm more aggresive than the OEM fitment.

I even added 5mm spacer on the front and 10mm spacer on the rear to make it flush to the fender.
