To rust proof or to not rust proof

My car had its origins in California and then lived in Kelowna BC for a bit. Its never seen snow or salt. Its now in Toronto with me.

I do not drive the car daily but anticipate driving it 2-3 times a week, occasionally when there is 1-2 cm of snow on the ground. It will definitely come into contact with some snow and salt this winter.

I plan on keeping the car pretty much forever

Would you rust proof (rust check or krown) and if so would you get the full (with drilling holes in the body which is not appealing to me) treatment or the undercarriage treatement only?

Cheers

The previous owner of my E30 did the whole oil spray thing and let me tell you it turns the car into a total mess. I'd lean more towards installing one of those boxes that runs a small current through the car to prevent rust oxidation. Wash it weekly when you drive it and park in an unheated environment when there is salt on the car. Just my 2 cents.
