Angry So I got my key fob stolen right infront of me

So I was in the university library sitting at one of those individual tables with partition. I had my wallet, cell phone, and keys sitting on top of the partition. And I'm focused on my laptop and this black guy whose walking quickly down the aisle walks past me and as he walks past me, swipes my wallet and keys. I get and stand up and before I realized what had happen, he was already up the stairs (I was in the basement). I run up the stairs and he's gone.

sigh...now I have to go to the dealership get my fob reprogrammed. And now i will always be paranoid that some guy has a key to my car...

never understood people who would leave wallets and keys everywhere.

dont' you have a backpack or pocket?

sunglasses and phones i can understand, but keys and wallets? its almost like you are either trying to tell the world you have a BMW or inviting them to take your wallet.

...sigh...

He won't - the key will be deactivated. It sucks, though. Last place you'd think your things could be stolen from would be a university library. Did you talk to the security? File a police report?

I would camp out by my car so it doesn't get stolen.

Which school?

So, you would prefer your CCs, DL and the car keys to be in the hands of a thug rather than destroyed?

I wish I would have taken a pic, I'm really bad with this stuff. Flushed my phone down the toilet once too. You know those toilets that have the vacuum suckers? I didn't even have time to react.

i've done that but at a public toilet, w/ sensor flusher, so i couldnt get up, so i had to reach between my legs to pull it out.

I was naive to think it wouldnt happen to me. But a lot of theft happens at university libraries cause students are usually really focused on studying and have the ipods ons.

A buddy of mine, decided to take 5-10 snoozer ONTOP of his macbook, and woke up 15 minutes late with it gone.

Yeah... But it is still the best way to lose this kind of things. At least, you know that they are GONE for good The way we depend on gadgets these days, their getting stolen is equivalent to your house getting robbed by a heavily armed gang 20 years ago.
