New BMW bluetooth option?

Anyone knows anything about this Snap-in BT device? How does it get wired and integrated in the car?

Looks like phone pre-wiring (option SA 633 or SA 644) and NAV (option SA 609) are needed:

I read the pdf

For new series 7 vehicles with existing tele-
phony equipment
(option code 633 or option
code 644), the BMW Group offers the rear-seat
*
telephone unit with cordless handset (option
code 6NB).

I read this as,
instead of snapping in your phone, the snap in adapter uses bluetooth to connect your phone. Just a replacement for the hard wired snap in adapter for a phone. In other words, it's not a standalone bluetooth setup for the car. It still requires a TCU and assist crammed your throat.
