USB/audio interface retrofit kit

I know there were a few members curious about the 6fl retrofit and I am one of them. So..
I have order the 6Fl retrofit kit # 65 41 0 445 465 and having it installed by my Bmw dealer tomorrow. I was initially planning to do the install by myself but then I heard from other dealers that the kit only work in European market and so on...I don't understand why the part is available here if it is only for European market.

Due to the different in answers from dealers, and Bmw Canada. I choose the safe route and decided to have the dealer install it, in that way if it does not work, they can remove it at no extra cost to me.

I will keep the curious member updated.

If any member has installed this kit and works and lives in North America, please let me know.

Wish me luck...I want this kit to work.

This partnumber is for E89 (Z4) only and u also need to buy a TCU (about 500$)

there is a OEM Ipod Retrofit for the E90 if thats what your going to use it for

As per this document, it is not for Z4, it's for
BMW 1 Series (E 81, E 82, E 87, E 88)
BMW 3 Series (E 90, E 91, E 92, E 93)

what is a TCU? This document does not mention abt TCU.

thanx, Snipersix, I know there is an OEM retrofit kit for Ipod but I wanted the 6FL where I can plug a USB key.

It is not the TCU, you need the High charger/hands-free electronic control unit if your car is not equipped with it (it is stated in that retrofit document). That's the extra $500...
