Super glue on the leather?!

Yep, so a super glue bottle busted and I got a quarter size glob on the leather ebrake handle. It dried instantly before I could grab something to wipe it up with.

I was gonna try goo gone or something. Help.

I would normally suggest to use acetone to remove superglue, but since it's leather, acetone might damage it further. If you are planning to replace the piece, you should give it a try before ordering a new piece. You want to use rubbing alcohol first and if that doesn't work, use acetone.

Try google for an answer, but it sounds like you're gonna end up replacing the piece. Good thing it didn't land on your seat!

I have my own custom made alcantara boot. The glue dropped on the actual ebrake handle.

I might try some nail polish remover real lightly and see what that does.

A new ebrake handle runs like...$20, I'd just replace it.

You are VERY lucky it didn't end up on the seat. I would just try goo gone, and if that doesnt work acetone. Acetone might damage the leather but if you put it on a rag and only touch the superglue part it might be ok. If not you'll just have to replace it.

Acetone is nail polish remover, right?

And luckily I already have another spare ebrake handle, lol. I just dont want to use it if I dont have to.

Is the ebrake handle real leather?

It appears to be that way. Some hobby shops also sell "CA remover" which could help you.

I'd try some nail polish remover. That followed by a mild detergent mix should get the job done. Bear in mind it could ruin the piece, but it's worth a try IMO.

Try acetone. I use it to remove super glue from my fingers.
