New Climate Control Knobs for 07 models, retrofit?

Are they possible retrofit candidates?

I dont know how hard it will be.
I assume the center console will have to be removed?

Those aren't the same things as what the poster is talking about. See this thread for pics...

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...+interior+knob

I've been wondering about the chrome knobs (climate and non-iDrive radio) myself and plan to get a quote from the stealership soon. I'm sure it's not a biggie to just swap them without taking the console off

Have you tried to remove your black one to see if it is easily removable?

Just gave it a try on mine. Radio knobs pull right off. Climate control knobs are different. I was unable to get the climate knobs off, although I didn't try that hard (don't want to do any damage). The centers are lighted buttons (Max and Rest) so I suspect you would need to pull off the center button covers in order to reach whatever is holding the outer knob on.

That's odd. Your pic only shows the climate control knobs with the chrome ring. Every other pic I've seen without iDrive also has radio knobs with chrome.

I've been told that 328 only has the radio change. 335 includes the HVAC change as well. Probably had some HVAC units to use up and threw them in the "lesser" model. Just my 2 cents.

calvino changed his radio knobs to the chrome-ringed ones. But the climate control knobs are harder. If you look at the realOEM website, teh radio knobs are a separate part number from the rest of the radio. THe climate control knobs come as one part with the climate control... unlikely to be an easy replacement/modification.

+1
read calvino's thread, the climate control knobs cannot be pulled off, it comes attached to the climate control face plate

My 07 Canadian spec E90 328 does not have chrome rings for the radio, just the climate control knobs. This might be a E92 specific thing?
