how are people liking the short stick (like nikki's)?

Just curious how people are finding the ergonomics with the short stick like nikki got (i.e. the one that looks just like the stocker, but short)

LOVE it! Would never consider putting that long ass shifter back in. The short one is right where you expect it to be and the OE shifter is up about an inch too high, for me anyway.

hmmm... so then the short stick improves the ergonmics is the general consensus?

Does it affect the shifting feel much? I really like the feel of the transmission in my E90 so I wouldn't want to ruin that...

Agree 100%, right from day 1 the stock shifter felt a bit tall to me so I swapped it out and all is good.

I recently got an award for a 100 bucks from work because of some strong results I got on a project... I think I may have to blow that 100 bucks on the shift knob like nikki's ... I like the fact that it still has the metal back so it matches the interior very well~!

Curious as well...
Shorter = less leverage... more effort to engage?

A weighted knob helps this & IIRC the M sport knob is heavier as well as shorter than stock knob.

I have the M knob and I think it's quite heavy going through the gears. Maybe it improves when the car has more miles.
I notice that especially when i drive my wifes mini which shifts so much easier. Shifting into reverse is especially heavy.

You mean UK right? As far as I know Germans drive on the right not the left.

On the Autobahn all of them seem to be driving on the left though...

German/or maybe UK have right steering wheel so they use their left hand to shift.

Love it. I have the non-M version (no M logo and leather isn't perforated, better matches the E90 interior IMHO). Looks better, feels better w/shorter throws. Do it!
