I love sport seats... I hate sport seats...

One day I'm in my E90 330 w\sport pack - sport seats are incredible
Next day I'm in my E90 330 w\sport pack - just cant get comfortable and keep fidgeting...

I'm 6'2, 210 lbs so not a little guy, but not huge either. Seems to me I there arent enough options for my needs to adjust the seat.

Anyway, curious if its just me or if others 6'2 or larger find the seats uncomfortable at times.

Is there some "secret" position to getting comfortable? Should the pitch be flat, even, or deep? Suggestions please

i think most sports seats are pseudo sports seats. for proper body hugging- get recaros,sparco- much better.

I should add: I have the same problem with my 01 330i SP and 01 M3 seats as well. I know, I know, why do I keep getting bimmers then... its not like I'm miserable or anything. Its just sometimes I have a hard time getting comfortable. Maybe I'm getting old and fat and need a 5 series.

Just looking for some tips.

I dont seem to have this problem in my wifes E350.... they're semi-sporty but with enough room to never have this problem.

Oh, and the non SP seats suck (IMO) i cant believe how flat they are!

The only thing I don't like the e90 sports seats is the lumbar support, everything else I seem to be able to get just right, but not the lumbar. Most of the time it seems ok, but then sometimes it feels like a bar across my back, I've tried it everywhere, but I don't seem to be able to get it just right. I think I'm a pretty average size, about 5'10" and probably just under 200 lbs

I don't think E90 seats are designed for big fat americans.

Im an asian and I LOVE these ZSP seats. All my friends(mostly asians) love 'em too. All I need is a set of Recaro seat belts and there you go, my racing bucket seats.

I would agree that the seats seemed designed for thinner framed people that aren't as big. I think the sports seats are perfect for my frame but can totally see it being cramped for someone over 190 pounds. Odd since it's a German designed car. I thought germans were bigger.

I'm 6'2'' as well - seems to be a popular height ....

I think the sports seats are great.

As to seating position - I do the following:

1. Seat as low as it goes - right on the floor
2. Adjust angle of incline - I like it about halfway
3. Adjust distance - then adjust wheel to suit
4. Adjust backrest

works for me...

I'm 6'3'' 230 lbs.

I have the side bolsters wide open and the seats feel great.

I like the thigh support on the sports seats too.

I'm 5'10", 150lbs and after trying out the sport vs non-sport, there was no way I could settle for anything other than the sport seat. It is by far the most comfortable seat I've ever sat in! FWIW, they were both much better than the seats of the Lexus IS250 I test drove later that day - the Lexus seats were just too soft & unsupportive (but their air conditioning feature was nice!!!).

I'm about the same height and maybe a couple LBs skinnier on a good day . Anyway I opted not to get the zsp package and I have not had one uncomfortable day in my seats yet! And I'm a pretty decent sized guy. You don't hear me bitchen about my non-sport seats not being comfortable enough. I could have cared less between the 2 seats.

Personally I think all of you guys are just big spoiled whinning babies. It's a car seat for god sakes. It's not a leather recliner you watch your football games in.

Think you'll find that its a body shape issue. If you're fit and athletic you will always be more comfortable in a sports seat since by their very nature they are body hugging. Maybe the standard seats would be better or maybe one from Mercedes - typically a larger seat for drivers of an older demographic and higher entertainment budgets

Proper seating position: #1- Your head should be ~2" from the headliner. #2 - You should be able to lay your both plams on top of the steering wheel with a slight bend in the arms, #3 - You should be close enough to the pedals so that when you mash on the brake (ie, forcing your rear into the back of the seat) your knee is slightly bent.
