Audison Bit One question

So I'm thinking of picking one of these units up. This is how I think it will work:

OEM HU >>> OEM Amp (L7) >>> BitOne >>> Aftermarket Amp(s) >>> OEM or Aftermarket Speakers

In future, I also understand I may be able to replace the OEM amp by a MoBridge DA1000 for a pure digital connection between HU and Processor.

Some questions I still have:

1. OEM HU volume. Will the BitOne properly de-EQ at ANY volume level??? (the calibration takes place at 80% HU volume per manual)

2. Does the unit provide an input for a microphone in order to make (one-time) EQ adjustments in response to the speaker outputs in the car environment?

3. Does the unit work with the optional (but nowhere to be found) auto-eq module? I hear talks about an entry level, mid level, and high level bit one. How can you tell the difference between the units? The one I'm looking at is a BitOne.1

Thanks!

1. Yes
2. No
3. So far there is only one bit one, and it does not perform any auto-EQ. I don't see how technically an auto-EQ external module -if existed- could work with another module that does summing, DSP and EQ. Auto-EQ should be done in the same device as the rest of the processing, IMO (i.e. the-someday-in-the-future MS-8).

Actually, the L7 system seems to have some auto-loudness component to its EQ curve, so you should ONLY calibrate your bitONE at 80% volume. If you calibrated it at a lower volume, it would be trying to defeat the auto-loudness even at higher levels where it isn't present, and you don't want it to.

If you install the bitONE, make sure to buy some very small-gauge speaker wire for your connections on the inputs. The terminals are TINY. You will want a small flat screwdriver too - I used an old a/d/s/ gain screwdriver, but you may want a cheap jeweler's screwdriver that they sell at Home Depot.

Why do you say that? I could understand the difficulty in setup for even the average consumer, though.

I was hoping to order it and just install it myself, but I will see if there are any dealers here in town that I could order one from.

Because authorized audison dealers sign an agreement to NOT sell these things over the internet, because they will get all effed up, and then the product - and the brand - will get the blame.

So any online are not warrantied, possibly black market, and probably V1 units which were glitchy at best. That's why
