Steptronic will operate the same on both 328i/335i. The only difference is that you can only get paddle shifters (after adding sports package) on the 335i and not the 328i.

I think there is difference between 325/330(current line-up) steptronics vs 328/335(new line-up) steptronics.

i guess i was referring or trying to that is, more so if the technology, or the parts that make steptronic in the 335 vs the 328.
did they do something like use the 'old generation' step in the e92/328 while putting a new generation only for the e92 335? or the auto tranny, 335 vs 328? |

I believe they are the same steptronic and it is fantastic. But the paddle shifters add a fun factor that is had to put a price tag on.

I dunno if they are the same, but on the 328 step i drove, the shifts were not only much more responsive but they were amazingly fast when in manual mode. Also, the DS seemed more adaptive to how i was driving and was smooth but also sporty. Very impressive if you ask me

Downshifts are fast enough with the steptronics on E90s imo.
Question is, how fast do they upshift? Most people/magazines mention fast downshifts.. but upshift is just as important...
