2004 M3 or 335i?
So basically, I could wait a couple months and get a 335i or pick up a 2004 M3 from the dealer, which one would you guys choose?
Also, how long does it usually take from the time you place an order until it's delivered? |

335 with a 6-Speed is just as quick (when driven properly), but an M is an experience like no other. Follow your heart! (JK!) Good Luck!

I know the 335 is almost as fast, but the handling of the M3 is still better. As far as it being used, it's a CPO with warranty in it so I guess it's no biggie.
I'm just having a hard time waiting!! |

Wait 1.5 years, eat bologna sandwiches every day, save your money and get the new M.
600 bologna sandwiches ain't that bad for a brand new M.

Quoted from another fourm:
"Well, to bring this thread back on topic, here are some more detailed numbers from the Sport Auto test of the 335i. In their article, they listed the numbers from the E46 M3, W203 C55, and B6 S4 Avant which were tested previously. Here are the major categories of their test. Nuburgring laptime: 1) M3: 8.22minutes 2) C55: 8:22 minutes 3) 335i: 8:26 minutes 4) S4 Avant: 8:29 minutes Hockenheim laptime: 1) M3: 1.17,6 minutes 2) 335i: 1.17.8 minutes 3) C55: 1.18,6 minutes 4) S4 Avant: 1.19,1 minutes 0-200-0 km/h 1) M3: 23.2 seconds 2) C55: 23.7 seconds 3) 335i: 26.3 seconds 4) S4 Avant: 26.4 seconds Transverse acceleration: 1) 335i: 1.15 g 2) M3: 1.10 g 3) C55: 1.10 g 4) S4 Avant: 1.05 g Slalom course (36m) 1) 335i: 136 km/h 2) M3: 123 km/h 3) C55: 122 km/h 4) S4 Avant: 121 km/h Evasive course (110m) 1) 335i: 136 km/h 2) M3: 136 km/h 3) C55: 134 km/h 4) S4 Avant: 130 km/h Total points indicative of the "overall assessment" 1) 335i: 45 2) M3: 44 3) C55: 42 4) S4 Avant: 37 In other words, Sport Auto, which places an emphasis on handling rather than straight line speed, ranks the new 335i above the E46 M3. Quite an achievement for a non-M car with stock 17" rims" It seems that the 335i is a better choice than the E46 M3

335i for me. Love the new roomy body design. e46M looks dated. However, if the choice is between the e46 M3 and other brands with the same price range, no brainer...M3 absolutely...

No prob. I'm hopping on to a 335i lease soon as well
I think a chip, exhaust, and CAI will unleash the inner beast of the 335i. Throw in a set of PSS-9 coilovers and an optional BBK, this car is can be a real scary contender on the track and the street.

I chose an e46/M3 over the335i a month ago, test drove the 335i after, I have no regrets.
I got alot of attention w/ my M3 over my e90, one 13yr kid yesterday yelled "MMM3" as I drove by the neighborhood. Dont expect to hear that kinda enthusiasm over a 335i. For the performance, still M3, its the way to go.
