E46 M3 and E92 M3/3 Opinion

I have been looking very hard at my E46 M3 and the new E92 and let me tell you there isnt one day i look at these e92's and say wow they have really made the design of the cars a lot nicer. I still have to say that my E46 is better built, designed then any of our e90 or e92. Now of course this is just opinion and I cant say anything for sure because the new m3 is not out yet. But as of now i find the E90 and E92's to be very cheaply built vs the e46 and I find that the E46 have much better handling then the e90's. I was just curious to see what your opion is and I know there is alot of controversy about this so dont make posts being rude because u disagree, just state what you think.

lol i posted a similar thread in the off topic section, comparing e46 vs e92 coupes
i saw an e46 m3 and 335i side by side, still like the e46 more especially if it has the m bodykit. the lines flow better on e46 and imo the front fascia of the e90 and e92 should be redesigned to look better; they're showin too much plastic. so i agree with you on this one

e46 m3 coupe even though it is a great car, is getting very dated, compared to e92 m3 coupe. e92 m3 coupe, in my opinion will completely eclipsed its predessor with a 400hp v8 and sub 5 sec sprint.

Looks is subjective, i agree the E46 looks really good and when the E90 first came out i thought the samething. I thought the E46 was much better looking. However the look of the E90 is really starting to grow on me, and now when i see a E46, i find it looking really dated. But the part about the E46 having much better handling than e90? How you figure that? I never owned a E46 but i have driven quite a few of them and i cant really say it handles better. Just curious how you came to that conclusion?

I was getting 325ci instead I got 325i only because of the test drive. I think the suspension of e90 is much more advanced as compared to e46. I use to love e46 but as many other say now I look at it I feel it to be dated..but again its just my opinion.

If given a choice I would choose e46 M3 VS. e90 325i but I would definately go for e90 M3 against e46 M3.

I owned an e46 M3 coupe for 3 years and it had great handling dynamics. But you sacrifice an awful lot of comfort, and the stiff ride got old for me. I love the handling of the e90 and have an e90 335 on order.

tough on the looks dept. I think one reason why we're seeing soo many odd looking cars (ie, lots of plastic on the front end) coming out of europe has to do with the new laws regarding pedistrian impacts. I don't remember the exact details of the law, but I think it's had a major impact on front end design.

Ne1 have information on the new law?!!?

Of course the E46 M3 is going to ride better than a E92, its an M3!!!! Now, if you compare the E46 325ci vs an E92 328i coupe, then there is a big difference and the E92 is the clear winner.

Do you have any data to back up your claim tha the e90/92 is more cheaply built than an e46 or is this just a feeling you have? My buddys door panel inserts are now falling off of his 02' 330ci btw .

E46 M3's better days are behind it. The E92's better days are in front of it. As nice as the E46 M3 was, the car is yesterday's news. Past its prime, long-in-the-tooth, dated, played-out. Don't flame me guys my 2001 330i is even more played LOL.

You are kidding, right?
You are comparing the e90 to an M car? That just doesn't seem resonable to me.

The E90 and E92 has improved suspension design at front and rear. The handling of E90 and E92 is great, as confirmed by several friends who bought
E90 but also own E30 M3 or E36 M3.

It is the reason I have been wanting the E90 or E92 because of mainly the new suspension and other things.

New car always have better torsional and bending rigidity among other things.

THe E46M3 in stock form performed no too impresive, one of example was the comparison test at Buttonwillow racetrack by Road & Track magazine (I forgot which issue).
