I just read page 21 of the User's manual and i still can't figure this out.

I want to set an audio and flashing light confirmation for whenever I lock and unlock the doors with the key. Page 21 tells me how to do it. But when I go into the car computer to do it, I am only given the option to set the confirmation to "off" or lights, no audio option (as outlined in the manual).

Do you need to have an alarm system installed for an audio confirmation?

Yes, this is one of the primary reasons why I purchased the alarm after I got the car.

Yup, you need the alarm to get the audio confirm. Drove me nuts also.
