I am not sure...but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't...the car dimensions are the same as an 330i. it just sits on top of the strut towers...

I have it... fits perfectly as expected. Front end feels stiffer.

I read on another thread that somebody who was installing the brace himself lost one of the bolts... or something along that line when he removed the nuts as directed by the instructions. Is that really a legitimate concern? I'm tempted to go to the dealer tomorrow and order a brace. I swap my own wheels and can do my own oil changes but that had me worried, so when all the indicated nuts are removed, is there really a good possibility that something will fall out the bottom? Do I have to clamp each bolt with something before totally removing the old nuts?

the brace is pretty much a waste...

get swaybars first, lowering springs/shocks second, then stress bars

I understand, but the car is only 6 1/2 weeks old so I'd like to start with the small and easy things first, also I like the idea of something thats OEM and can be installed without replacing/removing something else in the process. So I figured for the time being, this would be a good start and quite reasonable in monetary terms.

i agree, strut bar doesn't do much. better off spending that money on something else first, such as sways.

Sways would be better but try finding them for the xi! The stock rear sways on the xi are larger than the i by 2mm. The fronts are same.

I called H&R and they said they might consider developing them at some point in the future. ha!

Strut is inexpensive and a nice way to start DIY.

Absolutely nothing will go wrong.

Park the car. Pop the hood. Unbolt the nuts. Install brackets and finger tighten using supplied nuts. Install bar. Adjust to fit. Tighten everything with torque wrench to prescribed torque. Install protective plastic caps. Remove tools from engine bay. Close hood. Test drive. Join support group since you will now be addicted to DIY mods.

Just be careful not to scratch the aluminum bar during the install.
