Moving to Chicago, need car wash options

Guys - I'm in the process of moving to Chicago and will be living in the West Loop/Greektown (Adams/Morgan to be precise)

The condo building has zero provisions for car washing so I'm wondering what my options are - pay for a hand wash / do it myself somewhere? Any recommended places?

All help is appreciated!

Look for an outside hose bib, and get an inexpensive 50' coil hose. If anyone comes by, tell then you are watering the flowers.

I would just do the 2 bucket method and fill them in your tub inside.

Trouble with that is you need to rinse.

I was in the same boat; I'd take my ride to a DIY car wash, pay to hose the car down and knock the big stuff off and fill my buckets with regular water. Then I'd do a two bucket and pay another $1.50 to rinse the car off. It pisses people off because it takes way longer than a normal wash but screw them. You're a paying customer and its not your problem if they don't care about their paint.

I've found a couple of decent hand car wash places so I think I'll be okay... just need to find a good BMW dealer now, apparently the one in town is terrible

I just moved from LA to Chicago last week.... I will most likely be washing it myself moving forward, but the first thing I did when I got into town was to google a hand car wash spot. I ended up going to Bucktown hand wash and detailing. It was the only place that had any reviews.

They did a great job cleaning all of the bug guts off the front of my car and I'd go there again without hesitation if I wanted to pay for a quality hand wash.. Another plus is that there is a fantastic bar across the street called the map room. It made the time go by quickly... haha

There is nothing better than washing your own car though... at least you know its done right.

I'm near them as well and gave them a try - pretty good but still a bit more of a production line than I'd like. I then found the West Loop Auto Spa and although it's a little pricier, I like them more:
