Hardwired Radar Detector staying on..

I have my Radar Detector hardwired in .. it used to shot off with the car but I noticed recently that it just stays on after the car is shut off. I can turn the car off, walk away for hours, come back and look through the window and it's still on.

Nothing has changed that I am aware of...

Any reason why it would be doing this?

hello stimpy, im thinking you connected to a constant wire instead of a remote wire. you may want to look at the DIY section of the forum. im sure this was covered already. good luck

While I'd agree with you - it just all of a sudden 'happened'. It used to turn off with the car. I've changed nothing.

Maybe you didn't notice it before? I'm assuming the car didn't spontaneously rewire it self. Maybe its connected to something that now stays on that didn't depending on temperature or something of that sort? I'd say switch it over to an add-a-fuse. If you need any help I can help you out. I'm in Glendale.

How do you have it hardwired? Through the fuse box? If so, what are you tapping into?

Through the fuse box. Not sure which one I tapped into. I just started hitting up the empty ones till I found one that worked.
