Folding Mirrors

A quick question ...

When you press the lock button on your key fob do your mirrors fold automatically and unfold when you unlock the car?

My old 320i used to do this ... is it something you have to get set at the dealers?

No they don't, you have to manually (well press the button) to fold and unfold them. Unless I have missed something from the manual but I don't think I have.

No, you have to do it manually........get into the habit of doing it all the time so it becomes second nature, as I didn't........to my cost!

Thats a shame ... would be good if you could get it set on the key fob.
Never mind ... I'll keep pressing the button

You've got to do the button every time... Not a programmable option either, even by dealer.

It should be a remote option. I can understand it being abused by stupid people. "hey look what my car can do, hehe hehe" anyways It should be allowed to be folded and unfolded one time every 1 minute or something. That way it can be abused.

I expected to be able to programme these onto the fob too....

Not for any reasons of vanity, more safety, as I don't like opening my door on the street without being to see easily what's coming behind me.

well i can see BMW's side of this. apparently there was a huge influx of warranty claims on dead motors...

I am sure I read an article in a mag where a guy had a remap and this garage also programmed his mirrors to do this via the remote .
