E90/E91 Series Front OEM Strut brace (Morristown)

What do you guys think of this:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...ayphotohosting

Think its worth $200? Would I see a significant improvement in handling...i'm planning on getting H&R sports springs in the next 2 weeks to lower my ZSP-ed ride....

Is this just a bolt on or would i need to drill?

Thanks...

How's the ride quality...can you feel the ride is more tight? Is $200 too much for this?? Is the H&R strut brace better or are they all pretty much the same??

It not that much bigger than the OEM strut. You should go for the rear only.

what my friend is trying to say is, no. it does not make a difference. you should go with h&r rear sway bar. now that makes a difference.

Excellent feedback...thanks everyone...

So you guys recommend H&R for the rear strut brace? Does this go in the trunk?

I think KSfrogman did a DIY on this... you have to take the rear bumper off to do it.

It's the rear sway bar, not rear strut brace

and you should do both front and rear sway bar, because if you only do one, and not both, it will disturb the balance, Ksfrogman explains it better, hope he chimes in

Question

so... by adding the front and rear bar/brace, this is to improve handling as in turning and manuevering?

Don't confuse sway bars and strut braces.

Question

oh boy... please school this rookie (w/ remarkable potential) about the differnce between sway bars and strut braces. Please explain like if you just use one front/rear set of each, what would it do or improve specificly... and what would be the improvement of having both on...

would having both on.. cause tires to eat up more if you become more agressive??

dont think you need sways unless you think you might drive hard.... and by hard i mean hitting curves at a not so safe speed... otherwise leave it stock you wont need it.

Without dwelling so much into it...sway bars controls roll in corners (that's way they are also called anti-roll bars) and strut bar/brace adds rigidity to the chassis/body. Rigidity adds to suspension tuning/handling as it limits whatever flex there might be maximizing the potential of your chassis underpinnings...and ultimately the placement of your tires.

+1, the front brace does look cool and any difference in handling is very small, unless you track your 3

If you tighten up the suspension there is more flex stress on the chassis, especially on uneven road surfaces, and strut braces are part of the solution.

Strut

Install the strut bar if you like the way it looks- you'd have to do some serious driving to feel the difference- autocross, perhaps?
