Sirius Radio Concerns

I just got off the phone with Sirius to transfer my so-called Lifetime subscription from my sold BMW to my new BMW.

They informed me that this would be the last time I would be able to move this lifetime subscription since it is an OEM installed radio. You said WHAT? That's right and only because I got this deal over 6 years ago.

I also had to pay $75 for the transfer.

And I was also told that if I had to get a new radio because of a radio failure the subscription would end.

WOW (WTF) is all I can say. Not a good business practice and this is what happens when there is no competition.

I helped fund this dam company (in a small way) years ago as an early subscriber and now they stick it up our A^S^*S!

was always my understanding that a lifetime went with the radio, not the user.

The 2006 330i I used to have had a lifetime attached to it... I never paid a dime for service. It was on when I bought the car.

I ran into the same issue with a portable Sirius unit. I just bit the bullet and gave up on activating my installed Sirius unit. I'll keep it on the portable and take it from car to car, hope it lasts. . . I also subscribed to Sirius way back when they were first starting and have maintained at least three subscriptions since. VERY bad business practice IMHO, I surely sympathize with you man.

I thought so as well. By the time I have to worry about this again we will all be streaming audio/video to our cars via a high speed internet connection IMO. Who needs SIRIUS at that point - give me Pandora!
