TV screen that works as a car info center?

I have and extra car 7 inch TV screen, i was wondering if there is any way to get it to show my car data, like oil temp, car temp and so on.

is there any software needed, is it even possible and will it cost a bunch?

if this doesnt work any ideas what i can use the screen for?

That's a pretty wide question...basically you're looking at:

1. getting a device/input to read the information from the car
2. mounting location for the screen(Powering, fabrication etc...)
3. output mechanism to display the information on the screen

You're probably looking at a carputer
