Spy Shots: E90 335i facelift for 2007/2008

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29669

It refers to this as a 2007/2008 model. Seeing that the 2007 model is starting production this month (and in dealers next month), it seems strange that there would be a refresh next year. I say this because the grill intakes that feed the turbo would have to be re-configured. Further, the model would likely get a mid-cycle/3-year refresh in 2009.

We have been told that there are no exterior changes for the 2007 E90 (aside from dual exhaust on the 335i)....otherwise I would think that the 2007 model would have the revised front end (despite being new as a 2006 model...they could justify the change as form following function...at least on the 335). Who knows.

So there you have it. Don't shoot the messenger (an easy target as a first time poster/long time lurker).

I hope BMW removes the dents and scratches before production.

Who TF cares? seriously, did you buy your car to show off to your friends and neighbors that you have the NEWEST bimmer on the block? and now that a 'newer' bimmer is out, you'll be outdone?

you bought it because you liked it (at least I hope so), for yourself. This ain't no show and tell

Canucklion,

You're right I did buy my car because I liked it. However a facelift will not only make my car look old (I like new things!!), but also dent resale residual values.

Given the E60 has been around so long without a facelift I do not feel that BMW needs to do this so soon.

^ it's not going to make your car look old, IMHO I still like the look of the E46. and again, IMHO, I'm biased (since I own an E90), the facelift looks ass, like I posted in the other thread, it looks like those 'shogun' front lips you see on imports

I don't realy see the point. It's not that much of a change. It's a little different, but not enough too really make a difference. How much did they really change the kidneys? They still integrate into the hood and the overall shape appears virtually identical. The hood remains the same. So the real difference is the bumper. I have a 335 e90 on the way and if it came with the "older" style I would be happy with it. If it ended up looking thike this, i would also be happy. I jsut don't see enough of a difference for BMW to put any effort into it.

I tend to agree. If anything, I find it "too busy." For some reason it reminds me of something Lexus would do, but I don't know why I feel that way.

BMW seems to be speeding things up a bit. Or maybe we're all just getting caught up in the moment.

Pretty soon we'll be seeing the next generation 3 series spyshots.

If your so bothered by it, then replace your current E90s front bumper, when the dealerships start selling the facelift bumpers.

Looks more like a fender bender than a facelift, like it just hit something on the chin and drivers door.

No production facelift until at least MY09 (except for M3 variation of course). So sayeth the crystal ball of speculation!

I like the new flame surfacing on the driver's door.

Actually, I'm thinking this may just be a mule for the front fascia for the e90 M3.

yea, I don't buy it either. I dont believe we'll be seeing this with the 07 e90's.

--Still wondering how the fogs are gonna fit in that bumper. The original e90 bumper they fit so nicely in the corners.--

You know, I just had a thought, this may not be a BMW job, perhaps this is one of the aftermarket bumpers??? How do they test them? Do they test them?

my original order of the 335i e90 has been completed for about a week now. A bit late to be testing a mule, no? If this truly is the 07, then this picture must have been taken what 2 months ago? So, it takes 2 months or so for us to see spy pics. I don't buy it.

The differences are so minor, the average Joe will not even see the difference. Most people cant even distinguish one model to another.
