After a month, my car's getting replaced...

(Very, very short version) Well, the car went in a month ago for a noise in the B-pillar. They stripped the car's interior trims and couldn't determine what the problem was (or at least couldn't say). So finally after weeks of fighting for a new car they called me on friday and told me they were replacing it. The only problem I see now is that with the 330 being out of production they're probably going to have a hard time finding one with the exact same options as mine...we'll see.

It will be VERY tough for them to find a 330 exactly like yours, especially now.
Supply of cars from BMW these days is extremely limited.

You'll be getting a 335.

If they give you a new car, they will try to give you a car with more options than yours (unless yours loaded with options already) before 335i. But you can always say, I don't want the added options because of added weight! ;-)

how many miles did you have on that car? also how long have you owned the car? i dont know if you meant that you have had the car for only a month or if it has been at the dealership for a month. i cant believe they said they would replace your car. im happy that they are replacing the car for you. best of luck with your new car.

Well, then they wont give him a 335i since the Sedan weighs a good 150lbs more than the 330i.

It wasn't just a rattle, it was a pretty loud noise. It sounded like it was metal to metal. The word "structural" came out of the service guy's mouth a couple of times. I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to the story than what they're telling me, all I care about is getting a new car and being done with it.

What's a TSB?

tsb is technical service bulletin. there is a link to the problem you might be having. i do not know why the dealership cannot resolve this problem; unless it is something more than just a ticking noise. tsb

If its a grinding sound the way you describe, no TSB is going to fix it.
The TSB others are referring to was to repair some plastic pieces in the seatbelt.

You'll be getting a 335.

After the third week that the car had been in the shop without them giving me a straight answer as to was wrong with my car, I started pushing the subject. Especially after I went in the shop last week and saw my whole interior stripped to the metal. After that I demanded to get a new car, next day they called and told me that BMW had approved to give me a new car and that I'd be contated beginning of this week to start the process of getting it replaced.

I doubt your dealership will give you a new 335i, if anything they'll probalby find a 330i that's equally equipped ( or a bit over-equipped), or they'll just refound you the money and sell you a 335i, they are not going to suck it up and absorb the extra cost of the 335i over th 330i.

I don't expect them to give me a 335, I just want what I bought without any problems. If they can't get me an exact (or over equipped) replacement than I'll look at other options. I'm not greedy, I just want what's fair.
