Hi, As you may know I am searching for a replacement for my 06 330i that i just returned to the dealer...

I found a loaded 08 328i that is available for a lease take over. The car has everything I want, sport, premium, xenons, but It doesnt have logic7 (which I used to have).

I asked the guy about the stereo and he said its a 13 speaker alpine system...

Searching the forum I found lots of posts about an alpine hifi upgrade, but I havent heard of it coming from the factory with it... Also, how does this system compare to logic7?

That guy doesn't know what he's talking about. If there is no Logic7 installed then that car has same HiFi 10-speaker system as any other 3-Series for the last 4 model years.

Thanks for the fast reply. So Alpine makes the stock 10 speaker system? Or is he wrong about that also...?

The OEM HU could be Alpine (there are other suppliers), the OEM amp could be Harman, as well as the speakers.

Don't get all caught up with the Alpine brand, an OEM HU is built to the manufacturers (BMW) specs, not the supplier's. The supplier just provide the manufacturer with what they want at the price they requested.

Well, actually, there is an optional Alpine audio upgrade, its in the BMW accessories catalog... You can tell if you have it by the Alpine logo on the tweeters in the doors (upper part, next to window/mirror)

That's not available in the USA... yet.

Is it possible to upgrade a non Logic 7 vehicle? and would this void warranty?
