Didn't TV finally switch over to digital? If that's the case than you won't be able to pick up local TV stations without some sort of special tuner box. The days of the TV antenna are over.

True. I was wondering if this was possible b/c this is standard on euro modes. But i did forget about the conversion to digital. Never mind.

No, the digital steam in the US is different than EU.

Even so, why? There's nothing to see on TV even at home. Prerecorded content would be a better choice (as long as safe driving is followed of course).

Don't even get me started on that. I swear smoking crack causes less brain damage than some of the shit they got on TV these days. Reality shows have completly taken over television, and I hate them with a passion. None of that shit is real because "real" people don't act like complete tools. The only reality show I like watching is Top Chef because I'm very much into working out, which means I love to eat. The only other reality "documentary" I liked was about SEAL training but than again I'm a former Marine, which is probably why I was so into it. Besides that I'll tune in to a few detective shows, Locked Up Abroad, and historical stuff.

Reality shows are cheap to produce. More $$ for the networks.

Exactly because you don't have to pay the morons that come on them. I mean these shows have been going on for years and none of these fools every made it to the A-list. I guess some people just love making themselves look like morons in front of millions of people.

I know there are aftermarket electronics that are able to be installed so the screen can be used for DVD's, but not sure about over the air programming.

I can completely understand why BMW wouldn't want that type of functionality in the US market. We are a VERY litigious society, and any moron is able to get a license. I'm surprised some of these drivers can put one foot in front of the other.

I can see it now...."Sorry I smashed into your car and killed your family. I was watching a great TV show and also texting someone on my phone while driving. I'm going to sue BMW for allowing me to do that. They should've known that I'm an idiot."

The US chose a different DTV standard that the EU, and the one WE chose has multipath problems with moving receivers in vehicles.

So it's a bad idea both technically and ethically.
