Canadian MY2007 E90 owners manual confirms 323i speed bump
See page 158 of the attachment in this thread:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29506 200hp This also bodes well for a potential 323i release stateside. Although it by no means confirms such a move. But I think a 323i with 200hp would be very marketable here, especially when you compare it to 204hp and 206hp (from memory - don't jump on me) for the IS250 and C230 respectively. |

It's a 2.5l straight six, right? I also have a feeling that in a couple years the 328i with the 3.0l straight six will get a bump to 255-265hp, and be rebadged the 330i. Then we might be looking at a 200hp+ 325i for a really low price (thinking about $30k), a 250hp+ 330i (mid-$30k), and the 300hp+ 335i (about $39K+) as our North American lineup, more in line with the rest of the world. I also wouldn't be surprised if the E92 was only offered as 330i and 335i variants. I think it was ahkkbat who mentioned something a long time ago, about how the 3-Series always seems to come back to the number 325i, generation after generation. He said it was an almost mythic number for the 3-Series; The everyman's BMW.

Not surprised at the horsepower bump, as this engine for Europe is rated at 218hp, and the bump coincides with increases for the 328 and 335. Looking good for ordering the 323i in the spring, now if only I could order cruise without opting for the premium package and it's unloved sunroof... |
