the 320si relies on revs to get the power and if you are driving it more normally it will feel sluggish. The 320d has torque and in most normal driving conditions will feel a lot more powerfull.

STOP = before you go any further with the 320d msport or 320si - you have to consider the Alpina D3:
http://www.fastsaloons.com/newsstory...ld=2597&type=1 It's actually cheaper tham the 320d m-sport (£27,275) and it has 200bhp (not 163 bhp) |

The 320si is a limited edition and a nice looking car. BMW probably put it in the showrooms to boost sales on the petrol engine since the majority of cars sold over here are 320 and 318 diesels. When your mileage is not that high you'll get an excellent offer with a special color, beautiful rims and a complete M-pack.
But as said, the diesel has way more torque and probably a better resale value.

the irony is that the 320si sounds like a diesel too
check this link-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCM6oLL5hBo in europe, diesel will prob have higher resale but the si is a limited edition model. A tough choice, mate. 320si- 0-100kmph- 8.0s, 173hp, torque 200NM- manual only 320d- 0100kmph-8.3s, 163hp, torque 340NM-manual |

0-100 in 7.4secs, 200hp, torque 410nm 6-7 litres / 100 km. Seriously, I'd get the D3 - it's almost as good as the 330d. http://www.alpina-automobiles.com/cm...php?sprache=3# |

definitely 320d over 320si. The Alpina is a great car but i understand you cant spec extras on it you have to take it as it comes.

Personally I think it represents fantastic value when compared to the 320d m-sport. |
