Valuation advice please!
I am possibly going to be changing jobs shortly and, if I get one I'm consdering, my mileage will go from 10k pa to 25k pa so the 335i on a PCP with 10k pa mileage allowance will not look as clever!!
If I can cover the finance outstanding on mine I might just come out of it (much as I love it). In any event, I cannot see any bonuses returning for me for a few years (if I stay in my current job) and it is hard to justify the spend on the 335i when it sits at a park and ride or airport all day every day. I know I was well under water on mine 6 months ago but values have improved as far as I can see. I know some of you (NFS etc) have your finger on the pulse for such matters. Not any equivalent spec to mine on AUC so: 2008 E92 335i MSport in Sparkling Graphite Registered 1 March 2008 and currently has 15.5k miles on the clock 225M 19' alloys Black Dakota leather interior Heated front seats DAB digital radio Electric folding wing mirrors With the exception of slightly dinked pasenger side alloys (front and rear - same incident where I was sqeezed up against a kerb by one of Edinburghs finest bus drivers ) that I am looking to get refurbed - the car is in perfect condition. Any view on valuation would be welcomed. Cheers John

I've no idea what your car is worth but last year i was thinking of px my car ( fully loaded 335D M Touring) . All main dealers were offering £17000 to a max of £18000 for her.
8 months later and another 18000 on the clock ( now 63000 ) and i've just been offered £19000 for her from an independent dealer. I do have two sets of alloys. I'm just amazed how residuals have stayed firm for the last 6 months. Good luck with the sale. |

Here is Glass's valuation. Assume it is manual? and I suspect value may be dependant on Nav, which yours doesn't have.
Valuation information Vehicle details Valuation details Make BMW Excellent condition £25000 Model 3 Series Average condition £22250 Variant 2 door Coupe Manual Below average condition £19900 Engine 3.0 Petrol Retail £27750 Trim 335i M Sport Cost new £39265 Year/Plate 2008 08 Mileage 16,000 |

Cheers Scoot, Peter.
Your right Peter, sorry, should have said it was manual transmission and I know the lack of SatNav on a 335i may well hamper valuation. I don't ever need to use it and I didn't expect to sell it within the 3 year contract (which I may not yet). I would need to get somewhere between the average and excellent numbers from Glasses to get 'out' clean. Towards the bottom end of that range and I will be keeping it regardless of job change! Thanks again guys

Same car with auto is worth £1750 more according to Glasses.
You may find the prices on Glasses effectively include Nav (despite what the text says) as most 335is will have it (and hence provide the bulk of data the guides are based upon). Hence you may have to take a bit less. No Bluetooth may also put off a business buyer (as its ££££ to retro). No reason why you shouldn't aim for a delta (for no Nav/BT) from the top trade in price though. Private values should be slightly higher than the trade in prices of course - so £25k should be possible privately despite no Nav - but it might take quite a while to find a buyer who doesn't care about Nav. |
