335 vs G37
yep this stupid conversation again, i really dont even want to race but im kinda being forced into it, My friend just got his car and honestly he thinks its a Ferrari, He talks about it everyday... were gonna go to MIR local drag strip
He has a stock 2008 G37 Auto I have a Stock 2007 335 Auto Any ideas on who the winner would be? Or any advice for me on how to launch and when to shift. Im thinking its gonna be a close race Maybe i can get a Procede in that time, but i think its not gonna happen... what you guys think?

I have very limited personal experience with both cars, but for what it's worth, I have heard/read that the 335 is faster by enough of a margin that driver error shouldn't be too much of an issue. for taking it to a track. No need to split tenths of a second on a public road.

guys, stay on topic, OP said he probably won't be getting anything before he goes to the track, and stock for stock, it is a driver's race IMHO...is he 6MT or auto?

335 should take the G37 on the track though, as long as it is a 335 with a sport suspension and a driver who's not afraid not to back off. Keep in mind that the 335 will be pulling away from the G37 once the going gets into triple digit speeds thanks to the turbos

You'll take him by a slight margin.
Just remember to lower your rear tire pressures a bit, press DSC button once, brake torque to around 2500 rpms (depending on road condition), and reduce excess weight (empty trunk, 1/4 tank gas).

I know it was mentioned once before but...BE SURE TO PRESS THE DSC BUTTON!...You'll definitely have the advantage early...the G37 engine needs to spin up to develop full power, 335 has it right off the line.

I've driven the G37S 6MT and I think it's night and day in comparison to the 335...but isn't the '08 G37 automatic a 5-speed auto, not the 7-speed? I think you'll take him easily

seriously, don't even sweat it. i've raced sooo many G37S's from a dig and from highway rolls. it's an easy win.
like other members have said, make sure you hit the DTC button at least once. i disable mine entirely because my fatter tires make it harder to cause wheelspin. torque brake to 2k-2.5k and just let'er rip. oh, and not to generalize, but most G drivers think their car is the shit. i know some guys who think their G35s feel and go faster than a 335i. i don't bother arguing it. G37s don't really feel all that fast either. they're lacking in the torque dept.

you will win stock for stock, 335 has more then 300 hp so the gap is small
i beat stock for stock g37 manual by about 2 CL's 0 - 90 so expect about the same as a lot of members are saying get JB+ and you will walk away with ease
