beeping noise??

i have had my e90 since may 25th and just today i noticed and heard something strange. i was driving to work this morning listening to sat radio and all of a sudden i hear 3 seperate beeps coming from the speakers. i thought at first it might be a warning signal for me to check the on board computer and its gauges, but everything read out to be fine. i didnt think anything of it until it happened again as i pulled into my parking lot at work. i was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. i dont know how to really explain it, but it was just 3 disntinct beeps heard throughout all of the speakers. the beeping sound is exactly like the beep inbetween voice commands. im hoping e90fleet may have an answer for me or any other of the great members on this board.

What was the outside temperature ?

All BMW's beep when the outside temp goes to 3'C ( 38'F )

But I see you are in the USA, so you have summer there so this may be improbable

I wouldnt worry about it, unless it continually does it. May just be the computer switching something
Used to have a E38 7 Series in the family that beeped if you hit a pothole.
So there are many things that may make it beep

Perhaps the clock is/has been set to give the audible chime at the :59s? Wife's e34 had this selectable feature, not sure if it's also in the e90 (or my e46 for that matter). Were you driving at the top of the hour?

i know for sure i didnt hit the voice command button because after you hit that and dont say anything it will say "voice command ended." this was just 3 beeps out of nowhere. also the temp was around 80F. also i do not believe it to be the top of hour chime because it wasnt at the top of the hour it chimed. so im still wondering why it beeped 3 times.

The exceed speed alert is a single chime accompanied by the word ((LIMIT)) displayed in the gauge cluster and "speed limit reached" information at the bottom of the nav screen if equipped.

hey guys i finally found out why it was beeping. KIMO was right!!! it was the top of the hour chime. i guess when it went off i looked at time of arrival time rather then the actual time. this was the reason why i had said i do not believe it was the top of the hour chime. i guess my girlfriend was playing around with the i-drive and set the "hour memo." thanks to all of you for all your guesses to help me try to narrow down the problem. also SCOTTZ5 is right about that annoying seat belt warning. it does drive me nuts too. i have a rule in my car; that if the seat belt chime goes off you have to put a dollar in the community pot for the car. i have had my car for over 2 months and i have 17 dollars in the community pot already. lol
