Aftermarket rims sometimes amazingly inexpensive
Every once in a while I like to look at what's available....today I saw rear 19" rims for the 335 at $49 each. What I liked about the package is that the tires would be wider than stock and the rims also wider, although at the cost of weight. Added those new Hankooks that came in 2nd in the tire test and the whole thing was still around $950 (265/235 19's)....
Just imagining what it'd be like to put something like that on. It's just interesting that an alloy rim could cost that little. Go back 10 years and it would have been $400 easy! |

$49 per wheel is dirt cheap, not just dirt cheap, impossibly cheap. I would look into the wheel brand, you need to be careful with the quality, strength and paint on cheap wheels.

cheap doesn't necessarily mean worse quality. i bought some 16" Rial Salernos from tire rack when they were on sale for $69 each and slapped some snow tires on them.
the wheels seem pretty well built, i'll see how they work since this upcoming winter will be my first one with the wheels/tires. If they're decent, I'll wait for the Rial Como 18s to go on sale and pick up a set for summer tires and just leave my stock tires/wheels in the garage since no one really pays any money for the 156s. |
