Alpine Upgrade
Before I get stoned to death and told to use the fuc*ing search tab, I know there is a sticky on this. But I am very close to getting this done and just wanted to get a flavour of peoples opinion from the main forum. How much of am improvement is there? I will probably have to get a stealer to fit it as I struggle to change a bulb and therefore will be looking at the best part of £600, is it justifiable.

I paid my dealer £508 to supply and fit mine. The BMW instructions indicate a two and a half hour installation time - make them stick to that in their bill (it probably will take them longer if they haven't done it before).
And yes, it was worth it. The bass is massively improved even at low volumes and the extra overall volume is very welcome. The tweeters also make a significant improvement as well. |

I paid £270 for mine, and I think its bloody marvellous.
But its a total bastard to fit, basically and mine isnt perfect - it still buzzes a bit with heavy bass if I have the window down, and I cant fix it for love nor money. If BMW had fit it for me, then they would have to fit it. Where I got my BMW from, Barons in Lougbrough which isnt far from London, they were doing it fitted for £450 - I still have the original sheet which offerred it in all my gubbins so give them a call, might save you a few quid. You can buy me a pint! Matt |

MB - if you lived closer to me I'd happily fit it for you (after I've done mine!)

Deffo worth it, superb upgrade. Buy it from the dealer and you should get 10% and then get a ICE dealer to fit it. My local (Mobile Music) did it for IIRC £120 and took two guys an hour and a half and they had not done one before
