Bmw service history booklet
I cant wait until tomorrow to check my other car to answer this. Did your brand new & recently purchased BMW come with a blank service history booklet? I've been going through the x5 manuals etc tonight but cant find one.
There is a service & warranty booklet stamped with dealer stamp & first registration but I cant see anywhere for service stamps to go. |

It should have!
It should also show supplying stealer and registration date. If stealer has been lazy then they might have left it blank.

You must have a service book, simple as that. They add so much value to the car, backed up with service invoices etc.

Yes it should have one, i do know dealers will if they have not got one, hope you dont notice on the day as its embarrassing for them not to have one, but hope aFTER a few days/weeks notice and then they will go ''Oh sorry'' must have left it out, let me have a look/order you one.
Cheeky ones.

Cheers for your replies. Yes it's a brand new car. I emailed the salesman today but i think it's his day off. Perhaps he will reply tomorrow. They must have forgotten to give me one. Hope they surely give me one with a pdi stamp.

All this service book missing lark is worrying - are you sure it's not there??
Is the salesman going to blame you for the loss or is he going to be a gentleman about it I wonder? Supplying a new service book usually has "Replacement" stamped all over it plus the stamps they use to endorse the PDI and Service work carried out are date-ID'd - look closely and you will see a small date (like 12/07) on the stmaped bit.

fly,
the one on the left of your photo (with the trees on the cover) is the warranty booklet. That need the stamps / sigs etc for the warranty validity. The service book is below: (it now looks like a japanese instruction manual, no detail on what needs doing when, it just assumes you do what the car tells you to do!! they just tick what they have done) I've not had a service yet, so mines blank anyway. |

sorry to keep gate crashing your thread, but been in touch with the dealer where i puchased my car from told them i hadnt got a service book, and they said they will look in the archives from the time when i brought the car to see if its there.
if not they have one there and they will send it to BMW Uk,who were the first to register my car to get it all stamped up correctly then post it on to me. lets just see what happens now. |

doughboy - thanks for the photos. Now I need exactly what I need.
Thank you all for your input. Now I've got a question about GP thunders...what type do you all have (8500k etc). I've just got them but cant really tell them apart from standard ones once lit. Might post a technical thread. |
