I think it'll be just over the ton.
My E46 came with the 5year/60,000 mile maintanence package free from BMW, so I've still got two years of not paying.

From the dealer :-
The oil service is an oil and filter change, check parking brake function, brief diagnostic test, reset service information data, check indicator and warning lights and stamp service book.

So much for condition based servicing. My E90 just hit 12 months today, and the service symbol has come on at startup.
Good job I'm handing it in 3 weeks.

In the dark days when I used to have a Ford they would want the car for the whole day to do anything, and the folks on the service desk made it more reminiscent of Fawlty Towers - you really were putting them out by bringing them some business.

Turns out the date had been set wrong for the first service, so they just reset. Still have another 14k miles until its due. Which is of no use to me, cos I hand it back to the dealer in two weeks...

My first service on the Z4 (after 2 years) also included brake fluid change. The little clock used to appear when turning on the ignition meaning that although it still had a few thousand miles to go, enough time had elapsed and it needed a trip back to its dealers.
I was charged £240 and an air conditioning microfilter was also replaced. The labour charges amounted to £160 but hey, what else can you do? Quote:

On the 320d, I couldnt see how the pre-pay service was value for money, unless you were extremely unlucky and had all the wear-n-tears come early, and end up needing new discs with pads.

It was a company car though and I did drive it quite enthusiastically! Ian PS that means at 40k miles I had inspection 1, new front pads and discs, new rear pads, and 4 new tyres (which were pretty exp for 18" wheels on sport) - not cheap running a Beemer! |

Just had the 330d in for its first oil service yesterday at 18.5k. It cost me £187.50 all in. Not cheap, seem to remember my E60 530d was about a similar cost at the same dealer. The upside is you can now do such a high mileage between oil changes with new fully synthetic oils!
They are such a rip off these beemer garages, when I was there yesterday a woman came in to have a new indicator bulb in her Mini - the service manager told her they had to take the front bumper off and it would take about 30 minutes to do - £70 to fit and £15 for the bulb!!! Whilst she waited I chatted with her and looked at her Mini handbook (well she was tasty!) anyway it showed in the handbook how to access it without taking off the bumper! The service managers response was it was quicker to take off the bumper! - Yeh and more profitable for them!
