XM RADIO for BMW
The XM web site says they offer a BMW compatible receiver. I know BMW's come with Sirius. My old Honda had XM and I enjoyed it. Any ideas? My car is Sat prepped, but I think that is for Sirius, or is it? I do not want to get an aftermarket, I want to keep the clean look of my car.

There is an aftermarket product that is an XM receiver that essentially runs through the Sirius wiring harness, thereby 'tricking' your BMW into thinking it's Sirius, but is actually XM. It's called XM Direct. That said, it's doubtful that it will work in an E90 at this time, due to the MOST fiber optic system that is in it. But I'm not 100% sure of that.

The XM Direct will not work with the new car becasue of the fiber bus. I think there is not way to make it work either since everything is driven off of this bus. Even the new cd changer requires car coding in order to work.

programming is far superior to XM, I find much more music to listen to and most of the DJ's are quite pleasant to listen to
sound quality is better than FM, worse than CD's |
