Is double sided tape needed for aero lip install?

I believe to install the OEM aero lip I need to use double sided 3M tape, right?

Is it something I can get from the dealer (assuming they carry it) and if so, anyone got the part number for it and cost?

Thanks! I don't want to order it from the internet hopefully as I want to install the lip next week.

PS The official instructions call for applying this special glue all over. I'm guessing most people skip that and go for this double sided tape instead?

Which spots did you apply the tape to?

The 'special' glue is beta link....it's pretty permanent! I think it may be a bit difficult to work with also. For attachment of aero lips, spoilers, and roof spoilers, many of us simply use the 3M double sided tape designed for exterior automotive applications. It's gray and has a RED backing. I've never had any issues with its adhesion. I've used it to install both of my roof spoiler on my BMWs. It is as permanent as you can get without using the beta link.

Cool. Tape might be the better option then especially if one decides to part out the car later, it sounds like. Did you put the tape all over yours, or just on a few spots (and if so, do you recall where?)

It is easy to install. Use the 4 screws on the bottom, and then use 3m tape around all the edges. I used a bunch of tape and went a bit overkill, but that thing does not move at all!

Easy and takes like 20-30 min.
