To mod now or later, THAT is the question...

Due to $$ issues (about to spend 1500 on a new Mac cause my gf's PC decided to die on her after 4 years and she needs one...)
the money I had saved to mod my car is now significantly lowered

[my money is hers, her money is mine kind of relationship to clear up any confusion as to why HER needing a computer has anything to do with my money....]

I already bought a CF hood and a CF front lip, so installing those comes 1st before anything... and painting the hood

but i was going to ask:
How do you guys decided which mod is worth it now and which later?

I was thinking of getting a FMIC for a GREAT deal, but with installation and everything it'll be about 1100 at least...

I am only running a JB+ that I just got for dirt cheap... and I plan on upgrading to a JB3 in the future when $$ is more available

although the FMIC would be a great addition, especially since I have found a great price for it, but the $$$$ to install it is painful.. and since I'm not pushing too much power, I'm not sure if it's the smartest thing to do in my position... it does get really how here in SoCal though.. 82 today and it's only like 9 am...

I was thinking a more logical/affordable mod(s) would be strut bar/sway bar....

any have good experience with these? Think they are worth it?

What are your opinions on an exhaust?

Is a straight pipe a good substitute for now?

Sorry if this post seems to be a waste of one's time.

fyi, I would like to spend no more than $1000 in the next 4-8 weeks on mods....

what i want to do though:
install hood/front lip
get tints so i dont burn in the Cali heat

Rims....(most $$$.....) [maybe just paint the 189s...)
Sway Bar
Strut Bar

FMIC
Exhaust
SmartTop

my car has 3030 miles on now after about 2 months or so of ownership.

but after using my Mac for the past year+ she doesn't want a PC anymore

so what we are going to do is give her my mac and I'll get a new one.

I have a 2.4 GHZ Dual Core 2 2GB ram 160GB HDD and I would feel strange getting anything less, so I'm going to get the 2.53 one
and after student discount it'll cost roughly 1500

stupid 9.75% tax....

We do get a 'free' iPod touch and printer, and I think I can sell the iPod for $200 give or take

but that's still $1300

I knew I shouldn't have had her use my mac, I knew she'd fall in love with it.. .everyone who has used my mac (or any mac) starts hating PCs (I personally still love PCs, which is why I have Vista installed on my Mac)

Who said $ doesn't solve one's problems? (not all, but some....)

Big waste of money. Stupid to buy a mac if your running windows. Buy one of those little white Acer laptops. Spend all the money on modding.

not always...if you know what your doing with a pc...you will never have the problems that 85% of americans have...virus's... plus macs have better processors but just a lil less ram on the cheaper models

my mom just got the new macbook and i have 2 gaming machines that i put around 3-4k into each play crysis and etc

I use my leopard os 99% of the time but run windows when some programs don't work for mac
like when I bought the procede. Even though I didn't actually do it I installed all the stuff lol
I use my windows mainly when I run ScotTrare Elite since it doesn't work on Macs.

After getting a mac though I'll never go back to PC. Much more user friendly. Plus, I cab use windows if I need to, while you can't use mac os on a PC unless you want a big lawsuit against you lol (OpenMac/OpenPC)

I'm getting my mom one of those little netbooks. They can fit in her purse lol

or you went to a SWAP meet and got stuff really cheap...or traded members here for the parts...or members had spare parts to get rid off

actually the only way i was able to get anything was buying used lol

the CF Hood, no way I'd be able to get it new lol

i bought the PROcede used but just sold it due to $$
got the a new STETT CAI from a member here but never installed it (just as he didnt install it since if i remember correctly he had 2 lol) and no I'm trying to sell it to make back some $$....

someone buy my STETT CAI so I can put it towards this computer haha
