My wonderful e90 325i
Hi everyone,
The big day came and went and all is MAGNIFICENT with the car! A fun filled day running around, showing my new toy to all my relatives and friends yesterday. Lots to learn, so I am taking it nice and easy and as time progresses, I will pick up new bits of info along the way. I do have a few photos but I need to upload them and time is short for a few days. Anyway, some information to add to your databases. I can only speak from the Australian specified car, but it may help some of you - I don't know though. Steptronic: Not the slightest hint of hesitation right from the first drive where the odometer had 15kms recorded. I did, however, find that for a short time only, gentle acceleration caused a very fast 1st to 2nd change. In other words, first gear lasted for a brief moment or two, followed by a rapid change into second gear. After experimenting a little and the adaptive learning, this dissapated rather quickly and a slightly deeper depression of the accelerator pedal (road/traffic conditions permitting) seemed to eliminate the issue. I have only travelled 80kms or so and already the tranny has settled down very well. Engine: The 2.5 litre engine LOVES to rev so willingly. I love the low down torque, missing from my old 323i. LOTS more power as well and a great acceleration rate. What a BIG jump from the 323i. Brakes: No soft stop issues that some of you are experiencing at all. In fact, my first read of the book didn't show up this feature but yesterday was info overload day. The car stops hard and stays there until I make it go again. Not once did I feel any soft stopping. Ride: Nice and tight. Firm ride for me which is what I like but my passengers told me how nice and smooth their rides were. I have the 17" 161 mixed wheels/tyres with sports suspension but I do enjoy the ride. Seats are quite OK, but I have been used to my e46 for 6 1/2 years, so there is a little (only a little) getting used to the new seating. I LOVE the memory seating/exterior mirrors etc. iDrive: Quite a bit to learn there but I thing that even the business iD is great. Sat Nav is lots of fun. My 14 year old son had taken to iD like a duck to water. He LOVES it!!! My wife loves sat nave and wants it in her next car. Good investment there for me. Logic 7: No time to check it out yet, but it is on my car. Saw the subwoofer grilles under the front seats. Bluetooth: My dealer set it up with my V3 in seconds. My entire phone book came up instantly on the iD screen. No problems. Jet Black: LOVE it! It is a real deep, shiny black. Black leather interior is GREAT, but I knew about the black/black car look as my wife has a black/black car and it looks GREAT. So now we have 2 B/B cars. My dealer asked me to fill in their own short survey and I gave him my full support. He told me about the official BMW survey and was open about the result needing to be 100% for him as 99% to BMW is a failure. I have no trouble with giving him my 100% support. I have been buying new BMWs from the same dealer since 1992, so the loyalty is there. The service department is totally competant and the 'service technicians' win many awards etc. They do a great job. I received a $150 gift voucher from my dealer to use in the Lifestyle shop. I will have to return as I wasn't in any mood to look at anything except my new car at the time. Time to go and take some photos and do some more driving. What a wonderful investment! Congratulations BMW on creating such a fine motor car. Chat to you guys and girls soon.

Glad to hear that the soft stop braking and transmission hesitation issues are (hopefully) just isolated occurences and that you've noticed neither so far in your BRAND NEW 325! Enjoy, and get those pics up!

Can I just ask one question? Does the speakers or anything say logic 7 on them? I know the old haman/kardon system had silver finishes on the speaker casing...showing that it was a hk system...does logic 7 have anything?
