The windshield/dash started creaking today
1st drive of the season with temps > 80F.
It creaked almost constantly over any road anomaly. The creak sounds like it emanates from the center. Any one else get this? Thx |

Mine may be different, but I get a creak every once in awhile there too. It's where the black part of the dash meets the wood or aluminum trim just under the center air vents. I found that by wedging a credit card in there for a bit and separating the two pieces just a bit, the noise goes away for a few weeks.

I'm chasing a creaky/click which seems to emanate from somewhere behind the iDrive screen, seemingly from the plastic vent grill in the centre of the dash top.
It goes away in cold weather, but returns once it is warm being especially prominent if I have the air conditioning on. The roads around the service centre are billiard table smooth and they have had a couple of reasonable goes at rectifiying it but it persists. I have removed the aluminium dash trim and the iDrive screen as well as stuffing bits of foam in the various gaps in behind, also without much success. I'm actually wondering if it might come from the vent direction baffles and radiate up as it is much more persistent if there is airflow to the face level vents than if air is solely directed at the feet. Other than that the car feels very solid indeed so I'm reasonably determined to solve the issue. I'll post more once the weather here warms up!

I have the same issue - dash creak, pop and crack noises, especially occurs after the day warms up. Dealer is addressing door creaks first since i couldnt duplicate this morning during test drive.

I have creaks as well. Only mine happen when it gets cold out. Not much I can do about it but turn the radio up.

Yup, I've pretty much resigned myself to this. I have a bad rattle in the driver's side A pillar or dash, a buzzing from the passenger side dash, rattle in passenger side B pillar, occasional cracking/popping sound from center dash, the list goes on and on.
You'll get used to it after a while.
