What would you BMW owners perfer?
2006 330ci w/ performance package -or- 2007 328i I saw a 2006 330ci w/ performance package and it was a beauty. I like the new 3 series coupe but I haven't seen it in person. I am going to make a decision soon, please help. |

what are the deals you are getting on these cars? Also buying or leasing? I like the looks of the new coupe, as well as the old one. I think either one will be nice!

u will be taking a hit if u go for 330ci because of the drop in resale value..I was considering 325ci and ordered it but because of the screwup of the SA he ordered 325i...now I feel it happend for a good reason...its very advanced in power and handeling and also few on the streets so u will stand out....my gf did not like the old body style casue acording to her e90 is more classier..on the other hand its expensive to mod...I have already spent over 2k and still gotta get a lot more done....
so choice is finally u r's but If i were a smart money man..I would go for new body style... |

Oh goodie..I like this question.
My opinion: BMW's drive to increase market share has forced it to move farther away from what BMW's were originally known for (great driving cars, not so much luxury) into more mainstream entry luxury car (Lexus). Since BMW doesn't really own the performance edge anymore, every new generation 3-series get's bigger, heavier, more luxurious than it's predicessor. Numbers wise the ZHP is a better car. The ZHP has 235 HP and weighs less than the E92 (smaller than the E90/92). BMW has worked out most of the gremlins on the E46, whereas the E90/92 are still evolving. The E90/92 has much nicer leather seats. Many E46 owners consider the ZHP the pinnicale of the non-M 3-series cars. You have to be honest with yourself regarding what you REALLY want in a car. People buy bimmers for all sorts of reasons (i.e. Badge, "it's german", drive, etc etc). Electronic gadgetry does not impress me so I consider it a waste of $$, and a receipe for more frequent dealer visits for the next "upgrade". So the ZHP meets my needs to a tee. If I could do it all over again, I would have bought my ZHP instead of leased it. Now I have to turn in my car and buy something that has an automatic and I'm not sure I want a BMW auto. |

IMO 328 hands down. the difference isn't night and day, but your resale is much higher AND you have a brand new car, which will gain you stares of envy.

I personally love the E46 ZHP. Driving that car is a true pleasure.
I agree that new products always improve, and the E90/E92 have a lot of fancy features Advice: Print out Socom's post and read it right before you test drive each vehicle. |

The only possible reason to buy a ZHP is price, right? My friend got a 2k5 ZHP 330i for 5k off list. He kept saying he did not like the E90 sedan when it first came out. He regrets his decision today. He saved 5k off list, and regrets spending north of 30k on a car that is 1999 technology. Penny-wise and pound foolish is the saying. Why knowingly buy something that was phased-out?
