can't INITIALIZE tires, why?

my 2006 doesn't have NAVI, therefore i'm using the stalk to set things.

got car back from dealer, reprogrammed by them.
when i go to the (,,!,,) screen to try to INIT my tires, all i get is the RESET function? what has happened to my INIT command? how do i fix this?

thanks

I have 06 car too. I think init and reset are the same thing if you are trying to reset your flat tire warning. Did you try "reset"

When you get to the RESET function, select the option, then hit the selector again immediately. That seems to do the trick for me.

I did try that, maybe i'm not fast enough, the RESET function comes up and if i hold it down for 2 secs, a "check" mark next to the RESET occurs.

also, BEFORE they reprogrammed the car, i don't know if it's me or anything, but I don't remember seeing the "(,,!,,)" light up in YELLOW with the rest of the indicators(BRAKE[in red], ABS[in yellow], DSC[in yellow]..for 2 secs) when i start the engine. I know that some indicator lights should light up in the beginning for 2 secs after starting the car for Readiness Check, but is (,,!,,) supposed to light up too?

guys,

you need to have all 4 valve stems facing up at 12 o'clock. if you dont have access to a lift, you may need to do a couple figure 8's to have the stems all facing up.

then do the reset button.

dude, i had this same problem a few weeks ago or so i thought.
after step 3 in the manual there should be a step 3a:

"Press button 2 again to confirm your choice of the Reset Function"

then you can hold it down for 5 seconds and it will initialize. drive away and let it do its work.

You know, I thought I was going crazy until you said this. I just had some reprogramming done because of the wheel lock issue, and I could've sworn that I had never seen that same tire monitor symbol light up before too. Does anyone know what changes there were in the new software? I've also noticed that I used to get the "Pass Airbag Deactivated" light when I put my briefcase (it can get a bit heavy) on the seat. I haven't had that light up since.

Also, maybe I'm being paranoid, but I think I've also noticed that the way the vents are selected in Auto mode have changed as well.

I tried holding it down for 5 sec, no luck, all i got is RESET lamp with a "check in the box" right next to it. since they updated the car, is RESET the same as INIT?
